Abri – Clivia Close, Weymouth

Location: South West England
Duration: 8 weeks
Value: £1.3 Million
Expertise: Retrofit Multi-Measure
Sector: Social Housing

What the Client Wanted

Our collaboration with Abri has involved the successful completion of various projects with similar characteristics. This specific project focused on enhancing 33 homes in Weymouth that were not connected to the gas supply. The project marked the commencement of the first of ten projects as part of Abri’s SHDF Wave 2 commitment, entailing government funding and necessitating adherence to PAS2035 standards. Our scope of work included the implementation of loft insulation improvements, cavity insulation for previously empty cavities, installation of 3kW solar PV arrays, including eaves insulation to reduce thermal bridging.

How we Helped

Empty cavities were filled with Bonded bead insulation to prevent recurring issues of damp and mould including party walls. Loft enhancements included rockwool insulation, complying with PAS2035 standards. In preparation for solar PV arrays, DNO applications and structural designs were submitted, optimising array placement for energy efficiency. Improved ventilation was achieved by adding Envirovent fans, with a focus on kitchens, bathrooms, and WCs. Door undercuts were also introduced to enhance airflow.

Close collaboration with Abri’s in-house teams ensured a seamless project, benefiting residents with expected 20-30% lower electricity bills. The project created comfortable homes, reducing damp and mould risks. On-site teams reported a positive experience while working with residents.

We will be supporting Abri on further schemes across their SHDF delivery, the project will no doubt have helped residents we hope they will all be as smooth as this one.
